To locate a club near you, start a new club for your child or become
an "area-wide" (at large) member:

- Any youth member whose registration is received by Monday, September 17th is eligible for the Early Bird recognition award. This colorful embroidered emblem with the symbols for "sun" and "birds" on it may be purchases for 65¢ at the Camp Fire USA Store.
- What do clubs do?
Boys and girls in Camp Fire USA do a lot of fun things. Activities may
include arts and crafts, songs and games, service projects, field trips
and educational programs. All Camp Fire USA programs are age appropriate
and follow the national program standards of group decision-making,
fun and educational.
Youth members work on projects and activities in five different areas
of interest called "Trails". Activities may be done with a
group, the family or individually. In addition, there are supplemental
local council projects available to enhance the learning experience.
Each project focuses on a particular topic with a variety of optional
activities to try.
The Five Trails are:
- Trail to Knowing Me
- Trail to Family and Community
- Trail to Creativity
- Trail to the Environment
- Trail to the Future
Members may also participate in service projects, camp, outdoor programs,
community events and the council's fundraising drives (candy and magazine
sales).
Traditional Clubs meet regularly with volunteer adult leadership. Program
levels are divided by grade and called:
- Little Stars -------- Pre K (four year olds)
- Starflight ---------- Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grades
- Adventure -------- 3rd, 4th & 5th grades
- Discovery --------- 6th, 7th & 8th grades
- Horizon ------------ 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th grades
- Who can join?
Camp Fire USA is open to boys and girls in Pre-Kindergarten - 12th grade.
Adults are welcome and needed as volunteer leaders and support team
members. Youth and adults may join as members of a traditional club,
a specialty club, a "Community Family Club" or "area-wide"
(which is an at-large member).
- When do clubs meet?
Clubs meet on a regular basis (weekly or twice a month) on a weekday
or weekends, after school or early evenings in a school, church, community
center or a home. Placement in a club is determined on available volunteer
leaders and the number of children signed up. Volunteers are provided
with training and other support services.
- What if there is not a club in my community?
Youth and adults may also register as an "area-wide (at large)
member and participate in programs and activities of your interest or
convenience. Instructions are included in the instructions highlighted
in red above.
- What else is involved?
Members and their families may also participate in community projects,
camp and other programs. Members are asked to support the Annual Candy
Sale and Magazine Renewal Drive.
- Is there an uniform?
Yes. The official dress uniform is a red or blue vest worn with a white
knit polo shirt and blue or khaki pants or jeans. A Camp Fire USA
t-shirt may be worn for casual dress. There are uniforms for teens as

- What does it cost to belong?
Annual registration is $12.50 for adults & youth, , which includes accident
insurance; and $35 for a Family Membership of four or more. Club
members will also pay dues to the leader for the purchase of awards,
supplies, etc. The average amount is $25 - $30.

- What is a Specialty Club?
Please check with the staff contact listed about current fees required
to participate in any specialty program.
- Camp Fire Drill Team: A performance group for youth
in 7th grade and above who have served as day camp volunteers.
Rehearsals are weekly.

grade and above. Trainings are monthly.

- Teens In Action (T.I.A.): Teens plan and carry out
activities, workshops and service projects which focus on learning
independent life skills, service learning, and advocating for issues
which affect them.

- Archery Club: The archery club is open to all youth
members who will be in the third grade or above.

- High Adventure Club: Open to youth in grades 5-12,
High Adventure gives youth the opportunity to plan and do new and
exciting activities in the out of doors.

- What is a Community Family Club
(CFC)?
Curriculum is similar to traditional clubs, but the entire family (however
defined) participates together often in a school, church, or corporate
