TITLE:
Camp Fire USA/Positive Tomorrows
Summer Program Team Leader
- ACCOUNTABLE TO:
- Camp Fire USA/Positive Tomorrows Program Directors
- Camp Fire USA/Positive Tomorrows Program Coordinator
- GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Team Leaders will assist the Program Directors, Program Coordinator
and other team members in the planning, coordinating and implementation
of programs for participating in the Camp Fire USA/Positive Tomorrows
Summer Program.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Ability to organize and manage small group activities.
- Commitment to Camp Fire USA values.
- Able to work outside and possibly be exposed to weather conditions
prevalent at the time.
- Ability to communicate well with children.
- Ability to be on feet and walk long distances.
- Physical demands of job: Ability to lift or move 25 lbs., able
to stand, sit, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to assist the Program Directors, Program Coordinator
and other team members in planning a program of educational and
recreational activities based on the needs of the youth in the program,
and keeping with the philosophies of Camp Fire USA and Positive
Tomorrows.
- Experience and desire to work with youth going into grades 1st
through 9th who come from disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Able to plan age appropriate activities for age group assigned.
- Must be able to attend all weekly staff meetings.
- Able to assist in the implementation of all aspects of the program
as assigned.
- Responsible for the well being of youth in assigned group.
- Assure the confidentiality, security and welfare of participants.
- CPR/First Aid certification a plus.
- Must be able and willing to work cooperatively with all staff
members; must be a team player.
- Must be willing and able to be flexible from day to day or week
to week on program assignments.
- Willing to follow through on other duties as may be assigned.

- DATES OF EMPLOYMENT:
June7th – August 9th, 2004
- HOURS:
Approximately 32 hours/week
Mondays, 1:00 – 3:00 pm Staff Meeting/Training
Tuesday – Friday, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm
- PAY:$7.50 /hour
- WEEKLY ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Arts and Crafts, Games, Field Trips, Camp Activities, Service Projects,
Etc.
- 2004 REQUIRED STAFF TRAINING DATES:
Monday, June 7th – Friday, June 11th, 2004, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm daily--EVERY
MONDAY (beginning June 14th) – 1:00 – 3:00 pm
- 2004 SUMMER PROGRAM SESSION DATES:
Session #1 – June 14 --18
Session #2 – June 21 --25
Session #3 – June 28 – July 2
NO CAMP JULY 5 – JULY 9
Session #4 – July 12 – 16
Session #5 – July 19 – 23
Session #6 – July 26 -- 30
Session #7 – August 2 -- 6
Program closeout will be Monday, August 9, 2004
